The Design Jam Challenge
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, amidst the chaos of virtual meetings, familial responsibilities, and looming deadlines, it's easy to overlook the one entity that deserves our utmost attention: ourselves. Recognizing this crucial need for self-care, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic, our journey began—a 72-hour design jam aimed at creating an app experience in Adobe Xd that not only raises awareness but also inspires action in the realm of stress management, well-being, and mindfulness.
Protohype YYC was a virtual 72-hour UX design jam held in collaboration with Mount Royal University.

Citta (चित्त) emerged as the winner — a holistic self-care app designed to infuse mindfulness into users' daily lives. The focus: self-care and well-being for parents.
Derived from Sanskrit, "Citta" translates to consciousness, embodying the core philosophy of mindfulness. Understanding the unique challenges faced by parents, especially during the pandemic, Citta strategically incorporated parent-child friendly programs. These became the cornerstone of the app, offering activities fostering personal growth and family bonds. The community feature adds another layer, connecting users with similar goals and establishing a hub for shared interactions.
Customizable Plans: Tailoring Mindfulness to Individual Needs
Citta goes beyond a one-size-fits-all approach. With a customizable mindfulness plan, the app empowers users to tailor their journey to their unique needs and circumstances. Whether it's weaving mindfulness into a hectic work schedule or finding solace in a quiet moment, Citta offers the flexibility needed to foster individual well-being.
Accountability and Connectivity: Nurturing Consistent Well-being
Acknowledging the importance of accountability in the pursuit of mindfulness, Citta ensures users stay on track with their self-care goals. Through a thoughtful design, the app becomes a companion in the journey to healing. Moreover, the community feature doubles as a support network, reinforcing the idea that the path to well-being is a collective endeavour.
