I design and develop experiences through empathy, (responsibly) disrupt systems and thinking, and share stories that make the world more human.
A self-described problem seeker, Asfa’s strength lies in her ability to communicate the humanity hidden inside complex systems. She has an uncanny ability to find the balance between complexity and clarity in projects. Asfa strives to see her life and the world she lives in as more than the tangible and believes there are deeper truths and meanings within all things. Where others may see facts and figures, Asfa sees signs and metaphors and uses that lens of beauty and wonder in all her design work.
Asfa holds a degree in Communications with a major Information Design from Mount Royal University. Currently, she works as a Senior Service Designer at IBM. Asfa's passion and focus lies in data visualization, design research, human-centered design, knowledge translation, and storytelling. When she's not designing, you can find her stargazing, driving to the mountains, or hanging out with her two budgies.

In the spirit of our journey to promote reconciliation, I'd like to honour the truth of our shared history and acknowledge Treaty 7 territory and the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy, that includes the Kainai, Siksika, and Piikani First Nations.I acknowledge the traditional lands of the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations. I would also like to recognize the Métis people, and the Inuit people who have made their home here in Mohk’insstsis, also known as Calgary.
